The greening committee is now looking for partners to develop and improve the Van Lang Park. To date, the Dovercourt Recreation Centre and the Carlington Community Centre are interested in the park revitalization.
On July 16, Bonnie Campbell met with Gary Ludington of the Westboro Community Association and Zam Zam Tani of the Carlington Community Health centre to discuss how the park could be improved. Zam Zam has surveyed the residents of the Van Lang Private area and the TAIGA Non-profit association building behind Donna’s. The number one need expressed by the residents was to improve the park area. A field youth work from the Carlington Health Centre also attending the meeting.
The improvements needed by the park are a levelling of the playfield; a new fence; new play structure, new water pan and brushing of the wooded.
